Buzzing savor future.
BRIEF
Master thesis project.
CONCEPT
Insects, with their widespread presence and variety of shapes, are the most common species on our planet. While many people often see them as disgusting threats, in some cultures, they’re valued as a nutritious and tasty food tradition. These different views are influenced by various factors, including history and food regulations. This thesis aims to examine the phenomenon of entomophagy, understanding its widespread practices worldwide. It will also explore the role of packaging and marketing strategies in making this form of eating more acceptable.

Entomophagy is the practice of eating insects. It’s considered important due to its potential to address food security and sustainability challenges. Many cultures around the world practice entomophagy as insects are rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals, and they can be farmed more efficiently than traditional livestock.
This work has developed through two phases: Volume one contains the research, defining what entomophagy is, the rules of packaging, and who the actors operating in this sector are, thus exploring the market. Thanks to all these fundamental notions, it was possible to proceed with the second volume, entirely dedicated to the project: BigBuzz, buzzing savor future.
This new identity aims to be a bold brand, capable of communicating its values and objectives directly and clearly. Clarity and energy are the distinctive characteristics, closely linked to nature and raw materials. Its boldness is manifested in the open challenge of this food sector and in the desire to transparently communicate everything it represents.
